Dear John

We have launched two new campaigning initiatives – read on to find out more and get involved!

We've also got a bumper round-up of updates on all our campaign, education and fundraising activities. Thank you to everyone who has already taken part!

Peregrine Falcon with chick, CC Georges Lignier

Sign our new petition!

Urge Natural England to revoke licences issued to take peregrine falcon chicks from their nests! These licences were issued for chicks to be taken and used as part of unnecessary breeding programmes for falconry. We believe the rights of these birds to remain in their natural habitat should be prioritised over this outdated hobby.

Please sign and share now. Thank you!

Ask the government to support a transition to plant-based farming

Animal Aid and other organisations, public figures and academics have written to the UK government, calling on it to support farmers in transitioning to kinder, more sustainable plant-based farming or diversification out of animal agriculture.

Public money should not be used to bail out such a destructive and failing industry. We have also launched an online action. Please lend your support to strengthen our call.

whip being used in horse racing

More MPs back a ban on the whip!

55 MPs have now signed an Early Day Motion to ban the whip in racing!

If you haven't yet, please help us to keep up the momentum, and write to your MP straight away.

While we would like to see an end to this cruel and exploitative 'sport', a ban on the whip would be a major step forward for horses. Thank you for all your help.

Animal Kind featuring Michaela Strachan

Animal Aid Home Education

Our scheme for primary school children, Animal Kind, has proved to be a great success. Now we’ve made the resources available free to parents educating 5 to 11 year olds at home.

The film with Michaela Strachan, plus four easy-to-follow curriculum-linked lesson plans, are available on the Animal Kind website.

Visit our dedicated Facebook page where parents can share their children’s work.

Please share our promo film widely, especially with friends and family with young children at home!

If you haven’t contacted your MP to ask them to sign EDM 291, please take a minute to do it now. It’s simple and quick and already more than 1,600 people have done so. We currently have 37 MP's signatures.

If you have already contacted your MP to ask them to sign EDM 291, thank you very much, you’re a star! 🌟

caged breeding partridges

Ask the Minister to ban game bird cages

Tens of thousands of partridges and pheasants are confined in cages in England. These are the breeding birds whose offspring are used as feathered targets by the shooting industry.

This suffering must not continue, and we know the Minister is sympathetic to this issue. Please contact your MP today, and urge him or her to write directly to Zac Goldsmith, the relevant Minister.
