The Tarrant County Commissioner's Court is having a special called meeting this Thursday, September 12th at 10am to reconsider the early voting polling places and the orders allowing partisan Democrat groups including Battleground Texas, Jolt Initiative, and Texas Freedom Network to register voters on county government property.

Last Wednesday, Chairman French spoke against the proposed Early Voting polling location list which contained many college campuses that catered only to a specific portion of the population and was exclusionary to the general public. Many of these locations required voters to receive a parking permit or walk very far to vote; many of them also had other perfectly fine polling places just down the road.

If the County is going to select polling locations to cater to a specific demographic, why not cater to older citizens or churches? These demographics are far more likely to vote than college students.

We urge you to let the Commissioners know that you approve of Scenario #1 as listed under Agenda Item V.A.1, which will make our polling locations more accessible to the general public by lowering the number of college campuses used as polling locations.

Feel free to use the following sample language when submitting public comment online or when speaking at the meeting:

"I request that the Court approve Scenario 1 as posted in the agenda under Agenda Item V.A.1, which will reduce the number of college campuses used as polling places in the November election and will make our polling places more easily accessible to the general public."

The Court is also set to reconsider allowing partisan Democrat groups to register voters inside county facilities, which will give an unfair advantage to Democrats using county resources. Please let them know that you approve of removing the ability of partisan groups to register voters on government property.

Feel free to use the following sample language when submitting public comment online or when speaking at the meeting:

"I encourage the Commissioners Court to vote to Reinstate the Facilities Use Policy Approved through Commissioner Court Order #143472 and reject the presence of partisan groups at county facilities."

The Court will reconsider approval for each of the three partisan groups attempting to register voters on government property individually: Battleground Texas, Jolt Initiative, and Texas Freedom Network. Please let the Court know that you want them to DENY approval to each of these three groups.

Feel free to use the following sample language:

"I encourage the Commissioners Court to vote NO on agenda items V.C.1, V.C.2, and V.C.3, so that no partisan group is allowed to use government resources to register voters. Our elections should be free and fair."
