I’m reaching out because now more than ever, Alaskans deserve an enthusiastic, informed champion in Congress who will put you first. But that’s not the kind of leadership we are seeing from our only representative.

Alaskan small businesses received fewer coronavirus relief loans than anywhere else in the country. This is very disturbing news. When larger businesses received preferential treatment and got millions in loans that weren’t meant for them, the program quickly ran out of money. While business owners now struggle to survive and pay their employees, this week, Don Young voted against any oversight in future rounds of funding that would prevent it from happening again.

I am not sure what happened. After 47 years in Washington, sadly, Don Young is acting out of touch, missing the mark on these critical votes, and unable to lead us into the future we deserve. When the pandemic subsides, we will have the opportunity to rebuild and reshape our state and country in a way that puts our values and our people ahead of corporate profits. I’m ready to fight for Alaskans as we confront these 21st-century challenges.
