Over the last month and change, there has been a lot of focus on the presidential race, and rightly so. We have also strongly encouraged you to pay attention to the U.S. Senate, and the impact it will have on our future, no matter who wins the race for the White House.
Then there is the U.S. House, the body that I currently serve in. Republicans currently have the narrowest of majorities and Democrats need to net just 5 seats to take control of the chamber.
Here’s the catch: it’s not just about flipping 5 Republican held seats, but about defending all of the seats currently held by Democrats.
And two of those critical races are very close to home for me.
In Michigan’s 8th congressional district, State Senator Kristen McDonald Rivet is running to replace the great Representative Dan Kildee. In the 7th district, Curtis Hertel is running for my seat. I’m proud to be supporting both of these fantastic candidates with records of fighting for Michigan’s working families.

Both Kristen and Curtis are running in toss-up districts. On top of that, neither of them are incumbents, which means that they have the tall task of introducing themselves to voters they may not have represented before.
Because of that, both districts are top targets for Republicans hoping to flip seats red.
I know that they will not be outworked, but they need our help.
Will you chip in to Curtis and Kristen’s campaigns, help keep mid-Michigan blue and flip the House?
