Join Atlanta DSA and friends as we watch the presidential debate between the Dropout's Deputy and the MAGA Menace! We'll be at Georgia Beer Garden at 8:30 with the debate starting at 9pm. All are welcome!

On Monday, September 16, we’re calling on the people throughout the Atlanta area to join us at City Council once again to demand that our voices be heard. At any time, the mayor’s office can drop its appeal, or the Council can just pass a resolution to place it on the ballot themselves. We need to make clear that we won’t stand by as they subvert democracy right before our eyes – especially as election season approaches.

Each year since our Atlanta DSA chapter formed in 2006–except for a two-year pandemic gap–we have invited Atlanta’s progressive community to our Douglass-Debs awards dinner, to help us honor outstanding role models and leaders, celebrate our accomplishments during the previous year, and enjoy an evening of comradeship. Last year’s dinner resumed this tradition with great success, so we plan to come together again on Saturday, September 21st.

The dinner is a great opportunity to meet with other community activists and hear from inspiring speakers. Ticket sales and patron contributions will raise funds for our coalition partners, local community organizing, labor union strike support. Reduced-cost tickets will be available for students and other low-income comrades. Last year, Atlanta DSA joined labor unions and the Atlanta North-Georgia Labor Council to march in the Atlanta Pride Parade! It was so much fun that we're doing it again. Sign up HERE to march in the parade Sunday Oct. 13, and join us later on for some art builds and planning meetings. All are welcome - invite your coworkers and union siblings!

Ever thought about organizing your workplace, but don't know where to start? Join ATL DSA's labor committee for an in-person workplace roundtable Monday September 23rd at 7:30pm. Located at 711 Catherine St SW, Atlanta, GA 30310.

This roundtable will be an informal discussion on workplace organizing strategies, and what challenges people are facing in their own workplaces. Be prepared to introduce yourself, and share your experiences and advice with comrades on having workplace organizing conversations, strategies, and more! This event is open to members and non-members of all levels of experience!
