Trump Administration significantly weakens Endangered Species Act -New York Times

I’m disgusted.

In a time when we’re facing an all-out climate crisis with as many as 1,OOO,OOO species in danger of becoming extinct, President Trump is attacking our environment.

I just watched him make the biggest rollbacks to the Endangered Species Act ever in its 5O-year history.

I need to tell you that these rollbacks will weaken the protections given to species marked as threatened and will use “economic costs” to determine whether a species warrants being protected.

I’ll be honest -- that will make it easier for developers to completely obliterate the habitats of our most threatened species.

I’m angry. You and I both know the Endangered Species Act has saved countless species from the brink of extinction.

But Trump doesn’t care.

And I’ve had enough.
