September goal announced!

Dear John,

“A song where every note counts...”

That was how 5th grader Angela Du described the United States of America in her award-winning poem. The American Immigration Council was thrilled to celebrate her as the winner of our Celebrate America Creative Writing Contest earlier this summer.

Her experience growing up in an immigrant family inspired her writing—and it inspires me, too.

Your support is why we are able to amplify and celebrate the stories of kids like Angela!

Together, we are writing the story of a more welcoming nation for ALL, where immigrants are embraced. Please, be part of that story right now. We have set a goal to raise $5,000 by the end of September. Please help us cross the finish line and power our work—it is more important now than ever!

Angela’s poem beautifully describes America as a country where we come together to form “one grand story.” At a time when we are faced with anti-immigration sentiment and disinformation, these words should remind us what we are fighting for. Everyone, no matter where they come from, deserves a fair opportunity and a shot at the American dream.

If you agree, then please join us with a gift of support today. Your gift and your voice matter as we work together to create a nation where everyone has the chance to succeed.

Thank you for all that you do for the Council!

Executive Director

P.S. In her poem, Angela vividly explores her father’s journey as an immigrant from China to America, and the struggles he faced. For the many families like Angela’s, let us continue doing everything we can to make the United States a country where all people are welcomed and included!
