Hey John, it’s Maurice.
I want to take a moment to tell you what I know about Sue Altman — my friend, and one of WFP’s own, who is now running for Congress in one of the biggest House races of the year.
But before I get into it, I have to ask: Can you help defeat Mike Johnson’s far-right majority in the House of Representatives by splitting a donation between Sue’s campaign and the Working Families Party today? This race is one of our best opportunities to take back the House, and every bit of support will help us flip Sue’s district and send a real working families champion to Congress.

Sue, an anti-corruption organizer, former teacher, professional basketball player, and four-year leader of the New Jersey Working Families Party, is the kind of leader who doesn’t just talk about change, John — she makes it happen.
Throughout her career, she’s battled corruption, pushed for reforms, and has stood up for working people time and again.
If there’s a picket line, you can bet Sue is right there. And if there’s an opportunity to lift up working people, she’s already seizing it or throwing her full weight behind it.
I’ve seen firsthand how she’s gone toe-to-toe with some of the most entrenched political forces in the state, never backing down, even when the odds were stacked against her.
From former Governor of New Jersey Chris Christie, to the “Dark Lord of South Jersey,” George Norcross, Sue has taken on corruption on both sides of the aisle — because she knows that fighting for working people means standing up to the powerful, no matter who they are.
Now, Sue is running for Congress in New Jersey’s 7th District against Tom Kean Jr., an incumbent who has enabled the most extreme factions of the GOP. This is one of the highest-profile swing districts in the country, and it’s one of our best opportunities to take back the House and build real power for working families.
I know Sue well enough to say this, John: she’s not only in this to block the far-right’s dangerous agenda. She’s in this to build something better — a government that works for all of us.
She’s running to represent the people, not the powerful, and she’s running with the same fearless spirit that has defined her entire career.
So I’m asking you today to stand with my friend, and beloved comrade, Sue Altman, as she runs for Congress in New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District. Let’s show her the strength of our movement and what we can achieve when we come together.
Split a contribution now between Sue’s campaign and the Working Families Party. Every bit of support will help us flip this district and send a real working families champion to Congress.
