I never imagined I’d be running for Congress during this global crisis.

The one silver lining is the quality time I’ve been able to spend with my family while we self-isolate. Board games, cooking, and walks around the neighborhood (masked, of course) have all become more routine, and we’re making the most of this time together.

We’re fortunate. But that’s not been the experience of many Americans.

Millions are out of work. Small businesses are struggling to stay afloat. Meanwhile, special interests in Washington are still trying to bail out corporate America while leaving working class families out to dry.

If anything, this crisis has made me more certain about the stakes in my race.

My opponent denies the science of climate change, is a far-right conspiracy theorist, and an anti-vaxxer. We don’t need any more voices like his in Congress — especially right now.

We need more elected leaders who are willing to trust the experts, and have the compassion to give a hand-up in times of need.

We’re still just short of our end-of-month fundraising goal, so I’m asking -- one last time before the deadline -- if you can chip in a donation to help me be the voice our community and our country needs in Congress.
