Take Action for Millions of Animals Suffering and Dying in Labs! ([link removed])

Friend,

Captured, exploited and abused. That’s the painful reality for monkeys in research facilities right now—including species like long-tailed macaques, who are rapidly vanishing from the wild. But Congress could soon approve a $30 MILLION funding increase for cruel and unnecessary research on monkeys! Will you help us fight to protect monkeys and other primates from suffering by sending a message to Congress now? ([link removed])

Naturally playful and intelligent, monkeys are subjected to terrifying conditions in U.S. labs: from being force-fed potentially toxic substances to being deliberately infected with one disease after another. And because hurt animals will struggle to avoid pain and handling by humans, they’re tied down in restraint chairs for hours on end while these awful experiments are performed on them.

Worse, condemning these primates to suffer cruel experimentation runs counter to the best science we have today. We know that nonanimal testing methods are often more effective than outdated animal testing models. The clear way forward is to shift to these highly sophisticated, humane and more accurate nonanimal testing models and phase out animal testing for good.

But this additional funding package for monkey experiments could delay this needed transition and create untold agony for countless primates for years to come. That’s why we’re counting on compassionate advocates like you to send a message to Congress now: Please, tell Congress to say NO to additional spending for monkey experiments now. ([link removed])

Thank you,
