John, we're looking at the latest rankings for some of our key races and there's one word that we keep seeing: toss-up.
So many of our Congressional, statewide, state legislative, city council and local races are toss ups and they'll come down to the wire. We can't afford to slow down. With just over 50 days until Election Day, we have to make every second count. These candidates are counting on you, John. Pitch in today to move pro-choice LGBTQ candidates from toss-ups to VICTORIES!
I won't tell you this is easy. Just look at what we're up against. In Washington and California, Dave Upthegrove and Evan Low both survived close recounts to advance in their races. In Wisconsin, Tammy Baldwin is just ahead of her bigoted opponent, while incumbent candidates Angie Craig, Sharice Davids, Chris Pappas and Eric Sorensen are fighting to hold their essential seats. Will Rollins and Mondaire Jones must win for a pro-equality majority in the U.S. House.
And that's not counting state legislative candidates in states like Arizona, Florida, Kansas Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina and Tennessee, where we must elect LGBTQ+ voices. In North Carolina, Lisa Grafstein is the ONLY out voice in the State Senate, a hive of anti-LGBTQ bills. In Florida, we can elect Ashley Brundage as the first out transgender person elected to the Florida state legislature, ensure Nate Douglas flips a key seat and add Joe Saunders, Mitch Rosenwald and Carlos Guillermo Smith's voices to the legislature.
These races are incredibly close - and bigoted attacks are increasing. But we know our candidates have a path to victory, and with help and support, they will win. Pitch in today to move these toss-up to LGBTQ+ wins on Election Night!
Thank you,
LGBTQ+ Victory Fund
