The Queen Versus Godfred at the Great Chicago Pitch
The Great Chicago Pitch brings together filmmakers, industry partners and the greater community for an exciting afternoon of 5 new documentary projects pitched to a live audience. This year, the event will take place on September 20.

From POV Spark, The Queen Versus Godfred is an interactive visual podcast that takes a deep dive into incidents that occurred one night in 2013, when a 26-year-old West African immigrant was the victim of horrific police brutality in Calgary, Canada.

IDA Enterprise Documentary Fund Development Grants up to $15,000

The International Documentary Association (IDA) supports an international community of doc-makers, providing funding and resources while enabling them to retain their independent voices and artistic visions.
 
The IDA Enterprise Documentary Fund provides development grants up to $15,000 to projects taking on in-depth explorations of original, contemporary stories and integrating journalistic practice into the filmmaking process. Projects may be a short, feature, series, audio, VR or other emerging documentary format. Inclusion and diversity, in terms of both the filmmaking team and subject matter, are key priorities of the fund. The application deadline is Saturday, September 2, 2019.

The Women's Suffrage Centennial is currently accepting Vision Grant applications for the development of programming related to the U.S. Women’s Suffrage Centennial in 2020. 

Vision Grants offer up to $1,500 in support of brainstorming, researching, and professional development for organizations working collaboratively to develop new ideas and strategies for public-facing humanities projects.

Action Grants offer up to $5,000 to implement humanities projects that encourage public audiences to reflect on their values, explore new ideas, and engage with others in their community. These grants require organizations to demonstrate a match of at least one-to-one. Requests related to the U.S. Women's Suffrage Centennial in 2020, the Erie Canal Bicentennial, and the prison ecosystem are welcome.

The next Action Grant deadline is October 1st for projects starting 1/1/2020 or later.
