Housing prices are rising and rent is climbing,
John.
Supply just isn’t keeping up with demand, and it’s making it way too hard
for people in PA + across the country to pay the bills. And you know
what’s one of the main barriers to increasing the housing supply?
Restrictive zoning codes. 🚫🏠
Overly restrictive regulations at the state and local level are making it
way too hard to build, and now we have a shortage of nearly four million
units nationwide to show for it.
That’s why I just introduced the Reducing Regulatory Barriers to Housing
Act in the Senate. We’re going to help communities cut that red tape,
change those zoning codes, build more units, and bring costs down.
I’m doing everything I can to bring costs down for Pennsylvanians;
introducing this bill is just the first step. Now, we’ve got to get it
passed and signed into law.
