Get the Facts: Cuomo Comes to the Capitol!
On September 10, former New York Governor, Andrew Cuomo, will be testifying before the Select Subcommittee on COVID-19. This will be his first time testifying publicly before Congress following his orders during the COVID-19 pandemic that resulted in the deaths of thousands of nursing home patients throughout the state. Previously, he sat for a seven-hour transcribed interview, but this will be the first time the public can witness his testimony live. Central to the subject matter of the testimony will be the orders by his office for nursing homes to accept COVID-19 positive patients and to keep them in the nursing homes for treatment rather than transferring them elsewhere. Although the order came from his office, former Governor Cuomo has yet to take accountability for the orders insisting that he did not give the directive and was unaware of its existence upon the time of its issuing. He has also not identified the person who did approve it, insisting that even the state health commissioner was unaware of the directive at the time. As you can see, Cuomo’s prior testimony has left a lot more questions than answers, but I assure you, myself and other members of the Select Subcommittee on COVID-19 will do our best to get to the bottom of it. It’s time for Cuomo to take accountability for his failures, and for the American people to learn the truth about what really went down during COVID-19. It’s been long enough.
