John,
I can’t believe I have to say this, but: we don’t have to accept mass shootings in our schools as a “fact of life.”
What we saw in Georgia this week has become all too common in the United States. Too many parents have felt the terror of hearing that their child is in an active shooter situation at school. Too many children have been forced to hide and cower in the classrooms where they’re supposed to be preparing for the future. And too many lives have been cut short by senseless gun violence.
This isn’t a fact of life. It’s the product of inadequate gun safety in our country.
We don’t have to live like this.
I’m proud to be endorsed by the Brady PAC, the Giffords PAC, and Moms Fed Up, all incredible organizations working to end gun violence in our country. In Congress, I will fight for universal background checks, red flag laws, ending the gun show loophole, and, yes, banning assault weapons.
When it comes to gun violence, my opponent has offered thoughts and prayers — and then turned around and voted to remove restrictions on dangerous firearm devices. But that doesn’t come as a surprise, given his deep ties to a Christian nationalist organization that teaches kids as young as 11 how to shoot and kill with a gun.
Arizona’s Sixth Congressional District deserves better. Our kids deserve better.
I’m running in a frontline race so I can build a safer, better future for Arizona. Every dollar counts, so I have to ask: can you chip in now to make sure we have the resources to flip this seat blue?
