Hi John,

I have some news to share. I’ve taken a new, important role in the work to elect a Democratic majority in the U.S. House of Representatives this year and ensure that Hakeem Jeffries is the next Speaker of the House. I’m now a Co-Host of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s Red Alert program to highlight the Members who must secure re-election and the candidates who need to flip seats from red-to-blue for Democrats to take back the House.

With fewer than 9 weeks until Election Day, the stakes could not be higher. Winning the House is the essential victory to defend our freedoms, to expand the opportunity agenda, and to secure our future.

Democratic candidates are working tirelessly to communicate our message to voters so we can win in November. But our candidates need your help. Let me tell you about some important races I am tracking.

Red to Blue candidates Amish Shah (AZ-01) and Carl Marlinga (MI-10) emerged from competitive primaries and need your support to build a strong and winning general election campaign.

In New England, we have Rhode Island and New Hampshire's primary election on Tuesday, September 10. Three Republicans are vying to take on my colleague Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01) in the general election. He will need your support to effectively communicate his message in an aggressive general election campaign.

We also have important races like Shomari Figures (AL-02), Congresswoman Val Hoyle (OR-04), and Congresswoman Andrea Salinas (OR-06) who are facing dark money being poured into their districts by Republican super PACs.

Republicans already spent almost $2 million in south Texas to push an anti-choice extremist. Just this week, Republicans started reserving broadcast television for negative attacks against Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-34). He needs more support to ensure he can get on the air and start communicating his message to remind South Texans that he’s fighting for them.

Derek Tran (CA-45), Curtis Hertel (MI-07), and Laura Gillen (NY-04) are running in some of the most expensive media markets in our country. They need every penny they can to get their message out and compete against right-wing, extremist attacks.
