Congresswoman Tenney's Weekly Newsletter Have questions? Contact Me Here We Must Investigate Governor Hochul Under Governor Hochul's failed leadership, the Chinese Communist Party has successfully placed a spy at the highest levels of our state government. Operating under their influence, Linda Sun scrubbed anti-CCP or pro-Taiwan rhetoric from New York State officials’ remarks, fraudulently used New York State resources to assist CCP officials in entering the United States, blocked meeting requests from anti-CCP or pro-Taiwan organizations, and leveraged her position for private material gain. This arrest also follows numerous reports that the CCP operates secret police stations in New York City to monitor, intimidate, and control Chinese New Yorkers, and New York State has yet to take serious action against these stations. This week, I sent a leader demanding a thorough investigation be conducted to uncover the full extent of Sun's actions and their impact on our government and economy. It is imperative that no compromised CCP agents remain in the administration or are permitted to enter in the future. Read my full letter here. Yet, the VPC is using targeted digital ads to register Democratic leaning voters but working to exclude groups of voters that are traditionally Republican. As a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, VPC is required to conduct voter registration activities in a neutral and non-partisan manner. The organization has extensive financial ties to Democratic micro-targeting firms like the Pivot Group and Mission Control, which highlights potential bias in its voter registration efforts. As a member of the House Ways and Means Committee and the founder of the House Election Integrity Caucus, I am committed to preventing our tax code from being abused by partisan actors. This week, I sent a letter to the IRS, demanding they immediately investigate these allegations against the VPC and work to ensure all 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations are complying with statutory requirements. Our law enforcement officers are also facing unprecedented challenges as violent crime surges and the Left seeks to undermine their ability to do their jobs safely and effectively. This week, I unveiled my Border Security Plan and Law Enforcement Plan. My Border Security plan discusses the effective measures I am taking to secure our borders and protect our communities, while my Law Enforcement Plan underscores my steadfast support for our police officers and how I am working to provide them with the resources and tools they need to safely and effectively carry out their duties. My plans offer a commonsense approach to securing our borders, stopping the influx of illegal immigrants, and supporting the brave men and women in law enforcement. I am committed to holding criminals accountable and ensuring our nation’s laws are upheld. As your representative in Congress, my top priority is championing legislative initiatives that benefit you and your families. Each week, I review numerous bills and letters, engaging in thorough discussions with members of our community to determine which actions to support and address your needs. Below are a few bills I recently cosponsored. H.R. 6585, the Bipartisan Workforce Pell Act – This bill would allow individuals pursuing short-term educational programs to have access to Pell Grants, just like college and university students. Under the current law, only full time semester-long programs are eligible for Pell Grants, meaning 6 or 8 week job training programs are ineligible. As our Nation requires more individuals to enter the skilled trades, we must reduce the barriers for individuals pursuing short-term vocational programs and this bill is a great first step. H.R. 2706, the Charlotte Woodward Organ Transplant Anti-Discrimination Act – This legislation prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities in the organ transplant system, ensuring equal access to life-saving procedures. This bill is vital as it upholds and strengthens protections under the Americans with Disabilities Act, ensuring that individuals with disabilities are not unfairly denied transplants or related services based solely on their disability. H.R. 3350, the Historic Preservation Fund Reauthorization Act – This bill extends the Historic Preservation Fund for the National Park Service through FY2033. Extending funding for this program will ensure that the natural environment of our great nation remains intact for future generations. Introduced the Improving Coordination for the Northern Border Act There has been an unprecedented spike in illegal crossings at our Northern Border, including an 846% increase in one sector alone, putting our national security and community safety at risk. Additionally, 85% of suspected terrorists that have illegally crossed our borders have done so over the Northern Border. These terrifying statistics highlight the urgent need for my Improving Coordination for the Northern Border Act. This bill establishes a Northern Border Coordination Center to enable the Department of Homeland Security to effectively implement the Northern Border Strategy to enhance training and information sharing among federal, state, local, and international partners and secure our Northern Border to help keep our Northern Border communities, including NY-24, safe.
