John,
Here in Pennsylvania and across the country, voters are already facing a new wave of anti-democracy tactics: suppressive laws, misinformation, confusion, even intimidation.
And with the stakes as high as they are, these threats will likely only escalate as we get closer to Election Day.
The truth is, unless we speak out boldly against those whose path to power requires taking away our rights, their schemes to suppress voters and undermine our democracy could very well succeed.
That’s why Common Cause Pennsylvania is preparing to push back.
Our Protect the Vote 2024 efforts are already in full swing. And thanks to the incredible response from members like you, dozens of passionate volunteers have already stepped up to defend voters' rights in our communities.
That’s right, John. Pennsylvanians everywhere are joining this unprecedented volunteer effort by getting trained on our state’s laws, helping educate their fellow voters on their rights, and preparing to ensure that all of us can cast our ballots without fear or obstruction.
But we need to ramp up our efforts. We know that election deniers will stop at nothing to block our path to the ballot box. That’s why we’re expanding our volunteer training program and stepping up recruitment — to ensure that every voter’s right to cast their ballot is protected.
With your help, Common Cause Pennsylvania plans to field even more nonpartisan election protection volunteers at the highest-need polling places in our state and across the country.
Here’s why this matters in Pennsylvania: The presidential election will likely come down to just a handful of states — and Pennsylvania is one of them.
Every vote here is critical, so we're not exaggerating when we say that your support could quite literally help decide who becomes our next president. By contributing to our efforts, you're making sure that EVERY eligible vote counts.
Your support makes all the difference. On average, it costs $50 to recruit, train, and place one volunteer at a high-need polling location in Pennsylvania. And that one volunteer can help hundreds of voters navigate any obstacles and cast their ballots with confidence.
John, thousands of Pennsylvanians are counting on your support to help them cast a ballot, free of suppression or intimidation. Will you chip in $50 (or whatever you can spare) today to help sponsor a volunteer and protect the right to vote in Pennsylvania and beyond?
Every contribution brings us closer to our goal — a safe and fair election for all. With your support, we will continue to protect our democracy and empower every voter.
Thank you,
Philip Hensley-Robin, Executive Director
and the team at Common Cause Pennsylvania
