Here’s what we’re up against, John: Chris’s opponent Jay Obernolte is a self-funder who has given his campaign $1.2 million between loans and pure contributions. He’s also been endorsed by President Trump -- which gives the entire GOP establishment the signal to support him further. Keeping pace with Obernolte’s war chest means every monthly deadline is going to be crucial, but we are tracking a bit behind this month -- we’re about $8,221 short. The good news is if two supporters from xxxxxx chip in right now, we’ll be back on track to hitting our goal. Will you be one of the two supporters we need from xxxxxx to catch up on our April fundraising before midnight? Any amount will go a long way. CA-08 is an important opportunity to flip another California district from red to blue, and this race is winnable. The registration gap between Republicans and Democrats in CA-08 has narrowed to only 4% over the last year. That’s a slimmer margin than Democrats overcame in numerous California House races in 2018.
