It is rare that you find absolutes in this world. Things without shades of grey. Definite and clear right and wrong. But over the years, I’ve picked up on a few:

1. You never mess with Texas.

2. If you’re going to win your race for US Senate, you need a team, because if you try to do it alone, you will lose.

Sure as Texas is the best state in the country, I know you need a trusted and dedicated team around you to win.

A small, but loyal group of people who can be relied on, even when there are dark days in the campaign… especially when there are dark days in the campaign.

And, friend - I was hoping that you would be on that team.

Don’t get me wrong, this isn’t going to be easy. Far from it. I’m going to be relying on you for counsel, I’ll be asking you to join strategy calls, and I’m going to need your trust and confidence.

But that’s what I need in my Leadership Team.
