John,
Our nation is still reeling after Wednesday morning’s tragic events, when a gunman opened fire at Apalachee High School in Georgia, cutting four lives short and leaving many more injured.
This mass shooting is the 45th school shooting in 2024, alone.
One more community is left grieving another senseless and preventable school shooting. Countless lives are forever changed due to the actions of one individual, and a pattern of systemic failures within our government.
We need immediate, urgent action to improve gun safety measures and ensure no more communities befall the same fate as Apalachee High School, Robb Elementary School, Parkland High School, and so many others. It is imperative that the federal government responds and acts urgently to save lives and keep our communities safe.
I urge you to channel your grief and frustration into action, John. Please join me in fighting for tighter gun laws and regulations to ensure no more lives are lost in this manner, ever again. Will you help honor the four souls we lost and countless lives affected by this tragedy by signing the petition below? [[link removed]]

Just last month, I introduced the National Gun Violence Research Act to address the root causes of gun violence, advance and fund gun violence research, and establish an interagency national gun violence research program.
The U.S. Surgeon General declared that gun violence is a public health crisis. This bill will help turn critical data and research findings into real, lifesaving policies and solutions, equipping us with the tools necessary to address and fully confront this epidemic.
Passing this bill will be a critical step toward creating a future where our children do not fear for their lives every time they attend school.
Please, John, join me in fighting for a future free of gun violence by adding your name to the petition: [[link removed]]
