Hello, Friends —

During the final week of the House of Representatives’ August recess, I focused on highlighting the numerous failures of the Biden-Harris administration and the danger to the future of our country that a Kamala Harris presidency would pose. When the House comes back into session next week, House Republicans must fight for border, economic, and fiscal policies that, in contrast to Kamala Harris’ proposals, will make Americans safer and more prosperous.

While our country faces the worst immigration crisis in history, Kamala Harris wants to give amnesty and free health care to every illegal alien in this country. Her vision for America will kill Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security after they get overwhelmed by millions of illegal aliens. If she has the opportunity, the border will be flung wide open and the results will be catastrophic.

Moreover, a Harris presidency has the potential to devastate the entire American economy. While everyday Americans already struggle to afford the most basic of necessities, Kamala Harris wants to raise your taxes and increase reckless deficit spending. She has even gone so far as to propose an unprecedented 28 percent tax on unrealized capital gains, a measure that would take a sledgehammer to investment and discourage innovation. As if this weren’t bad enough, she has also announced that she wants to place Soviet-style price controls on food, which will only lead to shortages.

These risks are exactly why we need to put President Trump back in the oval office next year. But in the meantime, House Republicans must hold the line by leveraging our power of the purse in the lead up to September 30th, when funding for the federal government is set to expire.

Trump’s Florida allies oppose abortion amendment as former president decides how to vote

“A ballot initiative in Florida to amend the state constitution to enshrine the right to an abortion into law is known as Amendment 4. It states, ‘No law shall prohibit, penalize, delay, or restrict abortion before viability or when necessary to protect the patient’s health, as determined by the patient’s healthcare provider.’ Additionally, it says, ‘This amendment does not change the Legislature’s constitutional authority to require notification to a parent or guardian before a minor has an abortion.’ ...Trump ally, Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., told Fox News Digital in a statement, ‘I do not believe abortion policy belongs in the constitution. This matter should be addressed by the state legislature.’”

Ron DeSantis is in hot water for a plan involving Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus to put golf courses in a state park

“The backlash ran the political spectrum, from Democrats to environmental groups to most state Republicans, including Sens. Rick Scott and Marco Rubio, along with Rep. Matt Gaetz. ‘I know you love our Florida environment. We campaigned together on saving the environment in 2018. I saw your sincerity firsthand, up close,’ Gaetz posted on X, directing his comments to DeSantis. ‘Please use your excellent leadership skills to kill this anti-Florida Man initiative. Keep our parks natural.’”
