At this time of day I am usually bad news-ed out and need to spend a little time watching cute cat videos to regulate my mood. But then I read that Mitch McConnell’s focus when the Senate returns to DC next week will not be on addressing the health and economic crises gripping the country. No. His focus will be on continuing to stack the court with conservative judges.

I’m sorry, but those cat videos are going to have to be pretty damn cute to calm me down today.

I do know one thing that might help, though. Doing everything I can to help defeat Susan Collins and flip the Senate so that we never need to worry about “Majority Leader” Mitch McConnell again. Mitch McConnell has made it his mission to re-shape the federal court system as conservative and anti-choice as possible. So far the Republican-led Senate has confirmed two Supreme Court Justices and a record-breaking 193 judges. You know who has helped him do this? Susan Collins.

Collins long ago shed her image as a moderate to fully embrace the Trump/McConnell agenda. But here in Maine, we are counting down the days (seriously, there are 187 of them) until we get a chance to vote for change.
