There is NO excuse for enabling sexual harassment, and Delaware’s working women deserve better.
First, a woman working in the New Castle County government under the Meyer administration’s watch experienced sexual harassment from her direct supervisor.
Then, when she reported it, she still had to work with her alleged harasser – and she was even passed over for promotion.
Now, Matt Meyer’s administration is named in a lawsuit for turning a blind eye to workplace sexual harassment. And it’s not the only one – his administration has been involved in multiple lawsuits regarding his handling of sexual harassment claims.
John, this race isn’t just about differences in policy choices and political experience. It comes down to electing a leader who will champion women’s rights, from the workplace to the doctor’s office and beyond.
Bethany Hall-Long is that leader.
There is NO excuse for enabling sexual harassment, and Delaware’s working women deserve better. We won’t go back to the 1950s: anyone who experiences sexual harassment must be empowered to speak up, and perpetrators must be held accountable.
The toxic culture that exists in the New Castle County Government must not make its way into the Governor’s mansion.
Unfortunately, Matt Meyer enjoys the backing of out-of-state dark money groups, who have spent more than $1 million in attack ads on Bethany. He’s also a self-funding millionaire throwing money at his own campaign to reach voters before we do.
We have less than a week to go until the primary election, and that means it’s all hands on deck to reach voters and spread Bethany’s message of making Delaware the best place to live, work, and raise a family.
