Hello Friend,
This week, two students and two teachers were killed in a shooting at Apalachee High School in Barrow County, Georgia. The incident was the first major school shooting of the new academic year, and while a quick response from local police limited further loss of life, the community is still reeling from the aftermath.
As of September 2024, there have been more than 380 mass shootings in the U.S. this year alone. This continues a disturbing trend of high rates of gun violence and reflects a persistent national crisis, with both public and private spaces frequently becoming scenes of tragedy.
If we did just one thing—ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines— deaths would be prevented. Just one thing can go a long way in saving our children and innocent lives.
