John,
Did you know that members of Congress can trade stocks, even while influencing legislation that increases the profit margins of the very same industries they’re invested in?
It’s unfair and a blatant conflict of interest.
A bipartisan group of senators is taking action to fix this broken system by introducing the Ending Trading and Holdings In Congressional Stocks Act (ETHICS) Act.
Join us and take action now by urging your Senator to support the ETHICS Act and ban Congressional stock trading.
Aside from being unethical, Congressional stock trading also fuels war profiteering. Every year, about HALF the Pentagon’s $800 BILLION budget flows directly to defense contractor megacorporations like Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, and Northrop Grumman.
Many of the legislators who sign off on that absurd budget have made major personal investments in those same weapons manufacturers.
The ETHICS Act could end this war profiteering AND ban congressional stock trading one and for all. The Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs has just pushed this necessary legislation to the top of the docket.
The ETHICS Act will soon be taken to the Senate floor, and we need your help to make sure it passes.
Please, urge your senators to support the ETHICS Act and fight back against corruption and war profiteering.
Thanks for taking a moment to speak out.
