[ [link removed] ]Jezebel: Cori Bush is leading the charge against the Comstock Act. The man
who beat her in a primary doesn’t seem to know what it is.

The Comstock Act is a zombie law from 1873 that Republicans are trying to
use to ban abortion pills and procedures nationwide.

Justice Democrats incumbent Rep. Cori Bush was the first Democrat in
Congress to demand its repeal — the man who defeated her in last month’s
Democratic primary election doesn’t even know what it is.

This is an illuminating reminder of what we lose in $20 million primary
races like Cori’s and Rep. Jamaal Bowman’s. That money spent by AIPAC and
its Super PAC unseated a dedicated abortion rights champion and
Congresswoman who led the charge to repeal Donald Trump's basis for a
national abortion ban, and elected an empty suit who doesn't even know
what it is to replace her.

We can’t go back in time and undo what AIPAC did in Missouri’s 1st
district, but we can start preparing for the fights ahead, including
defending every Squad member in the general election and recruiting the
next generation of progressive candidates to join them in Congress.
