Census Bureau Geography Chief Leads U.S. Delegation at U.N. Geospatial Session

Census Bureau Geography Chief Leads U.S. Delegation at U.N. Geospatial Session [ [link removed] ]

?? Deirdre Dalpiaz Bishop recently led the United States Delegation, including geospatial professionals from the Departments of Commerce, Defense, Interior, Transportation, Veterans Affairs, and NASA, to the 14th Session of the United Nations Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management.

With support from the Census Bureau team and international colleagues, she has worked to implement the U.N. Integrated Geospatial Information Framework around the world. As newly elected co-chair of the 14th Session, she will lead the development of the 2025-2035 UN-GGIM Strategic Framework to communicate the importance of integrating geospatial information with other key information, like statistical data, in addressing global challenges such as health security and digital equity.
