Democrat,

Two weeks ago was the conclusion of the 2024 DNC Democratic National Convention. Our New Jersey delegation's experience at the DNC was nothing short of extraordinary, marked by a palpable sense of unity and enthusiasm. From the moment they arrived, the delegates were energized by the opportunity to be at the heart of the nation's political discourse, engaging with influential leaders and jumpstarting our nation’s drive and excitement for the Harris-Walz ticket. Our Jersey Pride was truly celebrated, while at the same time having our voices be instrumental in shaping the party's future direction. The camaraderie among delegates, combined with the inspiring speeches from electeds from around the nation at our events – like Governor Josh Shapiro, Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal and Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker – created an atmosphere of optimism and collective purpose. Our New Jersey delegation left the convention with a renewed sense of commitment and pride, eager to bring their newfound momentum back to their communities, local races, and our Garden State to get out the vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz!

Gov. Phil Murphy, along with Chairman Jones and delegate Dr. Joeigh Perella, represented New Jersey in the roll call at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. The renewed momentum from the DNC is highly significant for New Jersey, providing a crucial boost in energy as we gear up for the general election. You might have heard this going viral online but if you’re from Jersey you know that…

"We're from Jersey baby and you're not!" said Gov. Phil Murphy.

Yes, we are!

Democrats kicked off the convention in Chicago with a moving send-off for President Joe Biden and a surprise appearance from VP Kamala Harris. This symbolic gesture marked a significant moment of transition within the party, as President Biden officially passed the torch to the next generation of leaders.

The event highlighted a significant shift within the Democratic Party, marking the beginning of a new phase in its leadership and vision. By celebrating Biden’s contributions while looking ahead, the convention paved the way for a renewed emphasis on evolving policy priorities and new perspectives. I have supported President Biden before and I do so even more now with his courageous decision to step aside for Vice President Kamala Harris.

“She’ll be a president our children can look up to. She’d be a president respected by world leaders, because she already is. She’d be a president we can all be proud of. And she’d be a historic president who puts her stamp on America’s future,” President Biden said .
