Look, here’s something that needs to be said:

No Democrat would ever inspire a violent attack on the United States Capitol to overturn the peaceful transfer of power.

Why? Because Democrats believe in democracy.

If you know me, you know I’m an optimist. I truly believe that not just Democrats but the vast majority of Americans believe in our founding ideals, trust our democratic systems, and want to preserve free and fair elections.

But Donald Trump and far too many of his followers (including my self-described ‘MAGA’ opponent) have made it clear that they don’t. We’re facing extraordinary circumstances that require each and every one of us to commit to this fight — not stand by idly and hope it all turns out well.

What we do in November — less than two months from now — will have a lasting impact on our nation. We can either band together and stand up against the forces that seek to tear down our democracy, or we can sit around and let them win.

Today, I’m asking you to take action to protect our democracy by making a donation to my re-election campaign. Your support will go directly towards sending me back to the Senate and holding our Democratic majority — something we absolutely must do if we have any hope of securing democracy for generations to come.

Our next chapter is not yet written, but what we choose to do this November will determine the future of our nation — so thank you for standing with me on this critical issue.
