John xxxxxx,

In times of crisis, we should be able to look to our president for strong leadership, facts, and reassurance. Instead, we have a president who is inciting protests with tweetstorms, using his briefings to spread political propaganda, and failing to protect the American people from this deadly pandemic.

Trump is happy to take credit when it suits him politically, but as his inaction continues to cost lives and livelihoods, he points blame at states and governors. Then he looks to double down on inaction to stop this virus by floating vague plans to “reopen the economy” without the testing and tracing systems we need to ward off additional waves of infections.

Why? Because Trump believes there is a political advantage to be gained by overriding the guidance of public health experts. The only way we protect the health of our economy is if we do everything in our power to protect the health of our people. Add your name if you agree:

From Trump to Republicans in the Wisconsin State Legislature, we know the GOP has consistently put politics over people. Mitch McConnell even said he thinks that states, who are bearing the brunt of this crisis, should file for bankruptcy — while claiming multibillion-dollar corporations deserve a $500 billion bailout.

Sign on if you'll be following the guidance of doctors and public health experts — not Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell.

Lives are at stake here. Hakeem's doing everything in his power to ensure New Yorkers have the leadership they deserve — especially when they're not getting it from the White House.

Stay home and stay healthy,

Team Jeffries
