The people have spoken, and according to polling done by Morning Consult, Kim Reynolds is the most unpopular governor in the United States. From Hawaii to Maine, from Alaska to Florida, you cannot find people more displeased with their state leadership than right here at home.
Iowans have reason to be unhappy. We have had seven years of Republican leadership that has not listened to constituents and caused a lot of harm and hardship for our state. Times are tough, and they’re only getting tougher with Reynolds at the helm. The Democratic Party of Iowa is a party of ideas. We want to fix our education system, and end the voucher program that has been siphoning money away from public schools and hurting our communities. We want to restore women’s reproductive rights, and ban these harmful restrictions that drive young people out of our state. And we want to bring jobs and industry back to our state; not by giving tax cuts to uncaring billionaires and big businesses , but by investing in our communities and the middle class.
Iowa is ready for change, and it’s up to all of us to make it together. The Republicans have the power for now, but with hard work, dedication, and a whole lot of volunteering, we can turn this state around, take back control of our future, and return Iowa to the prosperous, hopeful state that it used to be and can be again.
