Big news in the legal fight to reinstate congestion pricing, John.
There is officially a court date.
On September 27, attorneys representing both sides will present their arguments before a judge in the Riders Alliance v. Hochul and City Club of New York v. Hochul cases to restore congestion pricing.
This is an important first milestone for our broad coalition of advocates, plaintiffs, and attorneys, who’ve been hard at work assembling lawsuits ( two of which were filed in July [[link removed]] , and which are based on the governor’s violation of state law).
Transit riders are the heart of the City’s working class and economic engine. When Governor Hochul halted congestion pricing, she singlehandedly deprived millions of New Yorkers $15 billion worth of transit improvements like more frequent trains, cleaner air, faster buses, and greater accessibility.

Here are some additional updates on what has already been accomplished in the fight to implement congestion pricing:
*
Ahead
of
the
court
date,
I
joined
an
amicus
brief
[[link removed]]
alongside
a
coalition
of
environmental
advocates,
business
organizations,
transportation
experts,
and
MTA
board
members
in
support
of
both
lawsuits.
*
Disability
rights
advocates
filed
a
separate
brief
[[link removed]]
emphasizing
the
stakes
for
transit
accessibility.
*
Four
state
legislators
also
filed
their
own
brief
[[link removed]]
asserting
that
the
governor
did
not
have
the
authority
to
indefinitely
pause
congestion
pricing.
If we don’t get this done, hard-working New Yorkers on their way home after a long day will experience increasing service cuts, gridlock, air quality alerts, and inaccessible stations.
I don’t know about you, but I believe a world-class public transit system, reduced traffic, and better air quality is worth fighting for.
We’ll have more updates soon,
Brad
