Make a Difference, Get Involved!

Our focus this newsletter is "Make A Difference, Get Involved!!!" We can all feel the momentum coming from the Harris/Walz campaign and want to capitalize on that energy. Across both our local El Dorado County and the wider Congressional District 3, there are many upcoming opportunities to get involved and make a difference.

To help coordinate these events, we've added options to our EDC Democrats Volunteer page. Our goal for this hub is to match our growing volunteer base with upcoming local activities, while continuing to make the Mobilize activities available. We look forward to seeing even more of you in the upcoming weeks!

CD3 District Wide Weekend of Action

This weekend kicks off the first of three CD3 'District Wide Weekend of Action'; Saturday, September 7th and Sunday, September 8th. Our goal is to have all counties canvassing and phone banking on both days in order to flip the district from red to BLUE!!!

All of the canvasses will begin at 9am on both Saturday (9/7) and Sunday (9/8). The phone banks will take place from 2-5PM via zoom. Training is provided at the beginning of each shift.

We're With Kamala - Pledge To Vote

Saturday, September 21 & Sunday, September 22

10am – 1pm PDT

Join other volunteers and learn how to save Democracy by talking with Democratic voters. Canvassing with friends is what makes it all happen!

Let's build the grassroots power Democrats need to win in 2024 and to defend Democracy long term. We need you more than ever during this critical election year!

Join us to learn how to go door-to-door and talk with Democratic voters in El Dorado Hills & Cameron Park and invite them to talk about issues that matter to them and make a Pledge to Vote! No experience is necessary. We provide this workshop, communication tips, online and in-person coaching support and the materials you need, including: Clipboards, Pledge to Vote postcards, pens, snacks and water. You can then canvass on your own schedule!!!

We will be using the PDI Mobile Connect app which makes it all fairly easy... so bring a well-powered smartphone! A prize will be awarded to the participant who reaches out to the most voters!

If you've never canvassed before (and even if you're a fellow introvert), or just need a refresher, we encourage you to register for this, in-person introductory El Dorado County..."Yes, You Can(vass)! training.

Phone banking

Making calls is an easy way to take action from home, and we make calls together on Zoom. Whether it’s your first time making calls or you’re a veteran phone banker, we need your help! Training, coaching, & support provided.

Volunteer to become a Democratic Advocate:

Are you already monitoring a EDC Public Board or Commission? Please email EDC DCC Member, Wendy Lucas Woods at [email protected] to let her know. We’d like to advocate for our Democratic values in the places and spaces where we are already at the table.

Harris - Walz yard signs are available for a limited time for delivery to your home, if you live in El Dorado County.

We invite you to make a donation and support our efforts to elect endorsed Democratic candidates; local, state and national.

After receiving your donation, a local EDC volunteer will deliver the yard sign to your home address, or you may arrange to pick it up at a location in El Dorado Hills, Placerville or South Lake Tahoe.

Calling all California Democrats!

Since 1992, the California Democratic Party has been dedicated to defending voter rights and ensuring that every vote is counted through our Voter Protection Program.

As we prepare for this election season, CADEM is looking for dedicated volunteers to join our team as Voter Protection Hotline Operators and/or serve as Volunteer Attorneys. Read more here

We need your help to reach more voters and inform them about how the CADEM Voter Protection Team will support every individual in the voting process.
