Tom Smithfield
Deputy Director
RNC State Party Strategies
Tom Smithfield serves as the Deputy Director for the State Party Strategies team at the Republican National Committee. Tom brings an extensive knowledge of the field and political landscape to his work. Tom's experience includes serving as the Deputy National Field Director at the RNC during the 2022 cycle, where he played a pivotal role in developing and implementing effective field strategies for RNC Victory teams across the country. In 2020, he served as the Deputy State Director for Pennsylvania Trump Victory, prior to that, he served as the Deputy State Director for the Pennsylvania Republican Party in 2018, where he oversaw a range of field operations and helped to deliver important congressional wins for the party. Tom's political involvement started as a Republican Leadership Initiative Fellow in 2016 and since that time he has worked on numerous special elections, political deployments, and races up and down the ballot, demonstrating a breadth of experience and versatility in the political arena.
Nick Clemens
Communications Director
RNC State Party Strategies
Nick Clemens serves as the Communications Director for State Party Strategies and Grassroots Partnerships at the Republican National Committee. With extensive experience across the Republican political spectrum, Nick has played a pivotal role in campaigns of all sizes, from local races to national elections. He has successfully led communications and operations for first-time candidates, as well as high-profile elected officials, including two U.S. Congressmen and President Donald J. Trump. During his tenure in the Trump White House, Nick emerged as a key driver of President Trump’s "Make America Great Again" agenda. Starting as one of the President’s personal writers, he quickly rose to Director of Messages, before being appointed as Special Assistant to the President and Senior Associate for Presidential Appointments and Scheduling. Nick’s strategic insight and leadership can offer invaluable guidance on how to maximize every campaign moment, ensuring your efforts resonate with voters and lead to success in November.
