Hey John,
born-and-raised Missourian John Goodman here.
The stakes are high this election year — especially in Missouri’s U.S.
Senate race. Here we’ve got Josh Hawley, the coward of January 6th, up
against Lucas Kunce, a 13-year Marine veteran who knows what it’s like to
grow up through hardship, fight for his community, and serve our country.
I’m proud to support Lucas, and in a moment I’ll ask you to join me. But
first, I want to tell you why I know that Lucas can defeat Hawley this
year and why his grassroots campaign urgently needs our help. Please let
me explain.

I’ll be honest: I’ve been ready to defeat Josh Hawley since January 6th,
2021.
He totally disgraced my home state that day… raising his fist because he
wanted to look strong, and then running away like a little coward out the
back door.
But Josh Hawley has done a lot more than just that to embarrass Missouri
over the years, stuff you probably wouldn’t even believe.
Hawley himself played a major role in overturning Roe V. Wade — he even
bragged about it! He backs the total abortion ban in Missouri,
co-sponsored a national abortion ban, and is a pioneer of the legal
movement threatening access to IVF and birth control nationwide.
Hawley forced Missouri taxpayers to cover his legal bills after he broke
the law — $250,000, in this economy! He’s refused to invest a single
dollar in Missouri, instead spending all his time writing stuff like his
“Manhood” self-help book.
It’s just shameful.

Now let’s talk about Lucas Kunce. I learned about Lucas probably the same
way many of you did, from online ads and emails just like this one.
I heard Lucas’ story of struggle and community, which reminded me of my
own. I’m sure it resonates with you too. I also saw he was running a real
campaign — outraising Hawley, earning record-breaking support, bringing
people together regardless of what party they’re from or who they’ve voted
for before.
And I saw it’s made the polls get closer, too.
I’m all-in to help Lucas because I know he can win this race. I know
Missouri can elect a Senator we can all be proud of. And I know if we all
pitch in, we can run that coward Josh Hawley out of the Senate!
I’m about to get to the most important part of this email, but first I
need to ask: [ [link removed] ]Will you please join me in supporting Lucas Kunce in his
race against Josh Hawley by donating $10 or more to his grassroots
campaign today?

I want you to take what I’m about to tell you seriously,
John.
With so much on the line this year, Missouri’s U.S. Senate race is one of
the most important in America — one of our ONLY chances to flip a GOP-held
seat.
First off, Josh Hawley is far more vulnerable than any national news
outlet will lead you to believe. Hawley won his last election with only
51% of the vote, with a margin weaker than Trump’s by double digits. Since
then, polls consistently show he’s the least popular GOP Senator up for
re-election this cycle, with approval ratings even lower than Ted Cruz in
Texas and Rick Scott in Florida.
Maybe even more telling than all that… after January 6th, Hawley’s former
mentor, three-term Missouri Republican U.S. Senator Jack Danforth said
supporting Hawley’s campaign in 2018 was “the worst decision I’ve ever
made in my life.”
Hawley’s base abandoned him. And he hasn’t won them back.

Meanwhile, Lucas has consistently played offense — holding Hawley
accountable for his extreme record while getting his own positive message
of taking back power for working people in front of voters across
Missouri.
He’s earned critical support from Missouri’s election-winning labor
movement, groups like Abortion Action Missouri, Social Security Works, and
End Citizens United — and even the Missouri Fire Fighters, who normally
endorse Republicans. With help from real people like you, all across the
country, he’s built a record-breaking movement to flip this Senate seat.
Frankly, John, Lucas Kunce and
Missouri’s U.S. Senate race haven’t got the attention they deserve this
year. But that’s OK, because it hasn’t changed this truth:
Lucas Kunce can defeat Josh Hawley if he has the resources to make it
happen.

Time isn't on our side here. November 5th will be here before we know it,
and we’ve gotta make every moment count for Lucas and the team.
We’ve gotta make sure they have the resources to fight back hard against
the onslaught of attacks that have already started from Hawley and his
campaign.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention — Hawley is so afraid of Lucas, he hasn’t
even run a single ad about his own record in the Senate. It’s all just
false attack ads against Lucas!
If you’re able to support Lucas right now in this important moment, you
can make a real difference for our country this year,
John. So I’m personally asking:
[ [link removed] ]Will you please join me in supporting Lucas’ campaign by donating $10,
$25, or just whatever you can today? Lucas is committed to running his
campaign the right way, without a single cent from corporate PACs, so
anything you’re able to give really will make a big impact.
