The Word from the RPOF : The June 14 deadline was for submitting the notarized Precinct Committeeman/Woman forms [DS-DE 305C] to the Supervisor of Elections (SOE) so that, if more candidates were to seek such a position in Indian River County than there are spots [a ‘contested’ election], they could be placed on the County-wide ballot. NOTE: Although our Chairman attended a Quarterly meeting of the RPOF in May 3-4, NO mention of this requirement and the looming deadline of June 14 was made. It was not until the last week of May that it came to the attention of the Chair of the IRC-REC. As it turns out, there were NO contested elections and no Precinct Candidates on that election ballot. Approximately 100 out of the current 140+ members got their Precinct Committee forms to the SOE in time for the June 14 deadline. The Republican Party Of Florida [RPOF] Loyalty Oaths [RPOF Rule 9; 06_11_2022] were another matter. Every current member of the IRC-REC who wished to remain a voting member after November 30 was to fill out the Party Loyalty Oath form, have it signed and witnessed [notarizing was not a requirement] and turn it into the IRC-REC Board by September 19, 2024; 30 days AFTER the August 20 Primary election. These forms will be sent by the IRC-REC Board by the September 19 deadline to the RPOF in Tallahassee via registered mail, return receipt requested. Any current member who did not get their Precinct Committee forms to the SOE by June 14 would continue as voting members until November but would NOT be eligible to vote in the IRC-REC Board election process held at the first IRC-REC meeting in December. 2024 They may have their membership reinstated but only after the Board members have been elected in December and sworn in. The failure of an IRC-REC member to file the Party Loyalty Oath with the IRC-REC Board by the September 19 results in immediate forfeiture of their precinct member status as of November 30. NOTE: These are the rules established by the RPOF. Please refer any questions to the IRC-REC Board. Peter A.
