Hi team,

This past weekend, the California legislative session wrapped up. We’re thrilled to share that of the priority bills that made it to August this year, we passed 15 out of 16 major climate justice bills that remained -- paving the way for healthy, sustainable, and thriving communities.

We wouldn’t be here without you, friend. The thousands of calls and emails you directed to our lawmakers demanding action -- not only this month, but throughout the whole year -- made these achievements possible. Thank you!

The oil industry spent millions of dollars campaigning against us over the last few weeks, but we showed without a doubt that when we work together, we win.

Very soon, we’ll begin pushing the Governor to sign these bills into law -- but today, we’re still celebrating all the huge progress we’ve made this year! Friend, commit to being a part of our winning momentum by making a contribution to our movement.

Now, key pieces of legislation are paving the way for healthy, sustainable, and thriving communities across California:

*AB 3233, AB 1866, and AB 2716 to ensure public health and safety is prioritized
*AB 2875 to protect our wetlands
*AB 2513 to alert consumers about the health risks of gas stoves
*SB 219 to make corporate climate accountability a reality
*SB 1221 to establish neighborhood scale decarbonization projects

We’re also closing session with Prop 4 on the ballot, a historic investment in clean and safe drinking water, catastrophic wildfire mitigation, drought resilience, urban cooling, and clean energy will protect Californians now and in the future.

These successes aren’t just wins on paper -- they represent real, tangible steps towards improving people’s lives. And that’s just what Californians deserve: 64% of voters want their leaders to prioritize clean energy and resilience.

But it shouldn’t be this hard to pass common-sense climate policies, and you and I both know that we can’t stop here. We have unfinished business for the next legislative session — like passing bills that didn’t make it through to hold oil companies accountable, divest from fossil fuels, and protect our right to clean water and air.

Big Oil will keep building its war chest, but we will keep fighting back.

When my team reached out at the beginning of August, we shared our fundraising goal of reaching 240 donors by the end of the session. We fell short of that goal by just 20 donors -- but I know we can make it up today. Chip in to help round out our victory this session.

Together, we can keep proving that Californians want leaders who will stand up to corporate polluters and take bold action to protect our future.

Onwards!
