Growing up in rural Oklahoma, I learned to honor my family’s Native American heritage. My ancestors were part of the Euchee tribe that arrived in Oklahoma in the 1830s on the Trail of Tears. As a kid, I saw my family struggle to pay the electric bills or buy propane in the winter.
Many Oklahoma families have similar stories. Here, 1 in 5 children live in poverty. Red state politics have driven Oklahoma to the bottom in every metric that matters – like access to health care, school funding, and academic achievement. Oklahomans deserve a representative in Washington D.C. who will set aside politics and ensure we all have a living wage, good public schools, safe communities, and access to health care.
Instead, we’re represented by a MAGA Republican who only values his political career. I’m running against Kevin Hern who is working to raise the age to receive Social Security benefits, cut Medicare, and dismantle public education. As a former FBI Special Agent, I know the importance of supporting NATO and Ukraine. Hern voted NO to Ukraine assistance and NATO funding. If Hern’s NO votes prevailed, he would have undermined our national security.
