Hello John,
Not that I need to tell you, but wow has it been a whirlwind in American politics! As we near Election Day, it's important that all of us who care about school board races help our family, friends, and fellow voters see the value in voting in each and every race on their ballots.
In electoral speak, a race like those for school boards is called 'down ballot', as in 'down the ballot from the big name, big office campaigns.' Many people will head to the polls this year because it's a presidential election year and some of them will never look down their ballot at all the other races.
As you and I know, down ballot races are enormously consequential. In fact, one in five elected officials in the United States is elected to serve on school boards.
When you think about the fact that our public schools are foundational to our communities, families, and children's lives, it's easy to see how dollars donated to down ballot races have a bigger impact on our day-to-day life.
Thank you for helping us reach more voters, support excellent school board candidates, and ensure every box is checked on ballots!
