How are you doing?
During these weird and tough times, it’s SO important that we stick together and check in on each other. We asked our Our Power text team how they were staying active and continuing the fight for change while social distancing. Here are some of our favorite answers:
“Sidewalk chalk messages to spread positivity.” -- Kayla
“Posted March For Our Lives quotes on my story!!! not much, but it spreads the message.”
“I submitted written testimony to push for a really important piece of gun violence prevention legislation here in my state and encouraged others to do the same!” -- Elana
“We hike, walk our dog, read mysteries, bake bread and follow our most important causes: like your incredible team.” -- Vicki
“I was working with friends to organize town halls with politicians at universities to encourage young voters to get involved during the election season but due to the pandemic plans have shifted into potentially doing it mostly digitally over zoom! I'm very excited to see what comes of it!” -- Felix
“Not using Instacart or amazon to support the workers strike”
“Volunteering at a local food pantry so people will be able to get food”
“Training others and Texting my fricking heart out” -- Susan
We hope these messages help inspire you to keep going!
[Now, tell us -- how are you doing?]
We’d love to hear how you’re practicing your activism while social distancing, how you’re taking care of yourself, what you’re cooking, what movies you’re watching, whatever you want to share!
