Friend,
This past weekend was Labor Day, and with that, a celebration of workers across the country who fight for better working conditions. We also honor those who came before us and paved the way.
The first labor union was created in 1794, and since then, they have only grown in popularity and membership. And we can thank labor unions for weekends off, paid time off, the 40-hour work week, unemployment benefits, family and medical leave, employer-based health insurance, and workers’ compensation. Without unions, our workforce would look a lot different than it does today.
Labor unions represent the working class. They tirelessly fight for better working conditions for employees in numerous industries, in every state across the country. This is why we should listen to them when they support Kamala Harris. Kamala Harris has earned the endorsements of more than 20 labor leaders from 20 different unions—from the United Auto Workers to the Writers Guild of America. These leaders know that Kamala will always fight for them, and now it is time to fight for her.
We need leaders in Congress and the White House who will support the labor movement, not bust unions. It is vital for us to support lawmakers who stand with unions and that starts with a donation today. While Democrats across the country join workers on the picket line, the Republican Party touts union-busting efforts and overall scab behavior. Donald Trump even bragged about firing employees who wanted to strike.
It is obvious who will stand on the side of the worker, and who will stand with greedy bosses. While Donald Trump continues to bail out corporations that infringe on worker benefits, the Democratic Party proudly stands with unions and the fight for a better workplace.
With only two months until Election Day, it is more important than ever that you support the candidates that stand with the labor movement. Donate today to my campaign so I can help secure a pro-labor, Democratic majority in Congress with Kamala in the White House. [[link removed]]
