John, democracy is on the ballot in 2024 – and your voice can make all the difference.
That’s why I’m excited to share with you the first results of our Democracy Survey 2024 – Common Cause’s campaign to make sure candidates for office are willing to advocate for representative government that works for all of us.
This year’s elections will be extremely consequential for our future – so we sought to get congressional candidates on the record to tell voters how they’ll defend and strengthen our democracy.
We sent a survey to every candidate running for Congress, asking them: if elected, what will you do for our democracy?
Here’s the good news: over 60 candidates have already gone on the record! And in this final stretch, we want to get as many more as possible to respond – so voters know their candidates’ positions on the issues we care about.
Then, after the election – with your help – we’ll hold candidates to the promises they made and make sure they pass solutions to improve our democracy.
John, here’s how you can help:
-
Visit democracysurvey.cc and enter your address to get started.
Check out the candidates running to represent YOU and see if they’ve completed the survey.
-
If they haven’t – it takes just one click to email, call, and tweet at them to demand they go on the record!
This will be a turbulent and significant election year, with hundreds of first-time candidates running for office and huge amounts of secret money being spent on campaigns.
And candidates need to know that voters like you and me want answers – and that we expect them to tell us how they’ll defend our democracy.
John, voters deserve to know where their candidates stand on improving and transforming our democracy for the next generation. Visit democracysurvey.cc to get started >>
Thanks for all you do,
Aaron Scherb, Senior Director of Legislative Affairs
