In close state elections, every single vote can make a difference.

Here's a fact, John: Democrats are more likely than Republicans to stop voting after ticking the box for President.

This phenomenon, called “down-ballot rolloff,” has massive implications for vital state legislative races and other down-ballot contests where just a handful of voters can make the difference. And Sister District is working to combat it.

Next Thursday, we’re hosting an exclusive Downballot Voter Toolkit virtual strategy and research briefing to showcase the research we’ve undertaken to understand who rolls off their ballots and why, and message guidance that will move voters to feel excited and empowered to vote all the way down the ballot. You’re an important member of our community, and we hope you can join us.

The Downballot Voter Toolkit Strategy Briefing

When: Thursday, September 12th at 3:00pm

Led By: Sister District Co-Founder Gaby Goldstein and Head of Research Jillian Evans, with a strategy update from Organizing and Political Director Shawn Werner and Co-Founder + Executive Director Lala Wu.

In close state elections, every single vote can make a difference.

In 2020, Democrats would have gained control of 14 chambers in 9 states by increasing down-ballot votes by just 2% or less! These votes could have come from people who voted for Joe Biden, but skipped state legislative candidates.

Now, in 2024, with critical state legislative seats up for grabs across the country, we all need to play our part to decrease roll-off.

Our new toolkit features key findings, tested messaging, downloadable content, and examples of effective ads that you can use to highlight the critical issues state legislatures decide and encourage voters to support down-ballot Democratic candidates — and we want to share it with you next Thursday!

So don’t wait: Sign up now to join our strategy and research briefing on September 12th at 3:00 PM ET.

Hope to see you there!
