Friend,

We’re excited to announce that Michael Gottlieb is joining our Advisory Council! His invaluable legal expertise will help guide We The Action’s ongoing work to strengthen democracy and advance justice.

Michael is an impressive and well-decorated lawyer with an admirable commitment to pro bono work. He received High Honors in the D.C. Courts’ 2023 Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll in recognition of over 100 hours of volunteer legal work. In the past two years, he was also nominated as American Lawyer’s Attorney of the Year, and Forbes named him as one of America’s Top 200 Lawyers.

We’re thrilled to welcome Michael to We The Action at such a critical moment.

Now more than ever, your commitment to democracy is vital. Check out this important election-related project below:

11—20 HOURS

Serve as a Poll Worker in Your Community!

Power The Polls

Poll workers power our democracy. In every city and local jurisdiction, election administrators need poll workers to keep polling places open, help their neighbors vote, and ensure every voter has access to the ballot box. Poll workers are critical to help maintain accessible in-person voting for communities without reliable access to mail service, voters with disabilities, voters who need language assistance, or for voters who want to cast their ballot in person.

This election cycle is proving to show historic turnout among all voters. This means the need for poll workers is critical to supporting voters: Increased enthusiasm leads to higher anticipated turnout, which in turn increases the need for poll workers.

Poll worker recruitment happens early. It takes time for election administrators to recruit, train, and place poll workers. So sign up before September 20.

If you have any questions, set up a meeting with Oakey Daskas at the link here.

Best,
The We The Action Team
