Gavin Newsom is driven around by taxpayer-funded chauffeurs, in
taxpayer-funded SUVs, filled with taxpayer-funded gas. The man hasn’t
touched a gas pump in years.
Yet, he’s trying to jam through an expensive gasoline regulation
that even his own energy experts say will lead
to price increases and gas shortages.
Should we be following his lead, or the economists and business
owners who actually know what’s going on and are screaming from the
rooftops that his bill will hurt consumers at the pump?
Of course, it’s no secret that gas is too damn high in California.
Newsom has had plenty of opportunities to actually fix the problem.
For starters, he could pass my bill to suspend gas taxes and fees and
lower prices by $1 per gallon immediately.
Since his presidential ambitions were squashed when Kamala Harris
replaced Joe Biden, a desperate Gavin Newsom is looking for ways to
feel relevant again with a splashy headline at the expense of
Californians' wallets.
As your Republican Leader, I worked with Senate
Democrat leadership to tell Newsom NO. The Senate will not
help Newsom with his sham publicity stunt that will hurt
Californians.

us keep the pressure on Democrats to keep saying NO to Newsom!
In other news, another high-profile California Democrat has left
the party. Yesterday, former
Democrat Senate Majority Leader Gloria Romero announced she is
joining thousands of other fed-up Californians and switching her voter
registration to Republican.
The pendulum is swinging! In fact, since October 2023, Republicans
have gained almost 200,000 voters and Democrats have lost over 112,000
voters.
For anyone else who is tired of witnessing the Democrat
supermajority run this state into the ground, Republicans have a seat
at our table for you too!
