Reform is coming ✊
Can you believe it, John, the government has committed to transformational reform of the broken water sector. We did it!
We've been waiting for this moment for a long time. The crack in the door that we are going to storm through to deliver real, lasting change for our rivers, lakes and seas.
Yes, bafflingly buried in today's government announcement on the #SewageScandal, which trumpeted welcome plans to strengthen regulation and enforcement, was the juicy news that all of our campaigns have been driving towards.
Read it and weep (tears of pure joy):
"We need to reform the entire water system... The government will carry out a full review to shape further legislation that will fundamentally transform how our entire water system works and clean up our rivers, lakes and seas for good"
John, it's almost as if we wrote the script. 🤯
And we did. Through the immense pressure that we, together, have exerted on those in power. We paddled. We protested. We petitioned. We made sure that the scandal of the 💩💩 pouring into our wild waters couldn't be ignored any more!
This victory is all of ours to celebrate. WE. DID. IT!
In the environmental movement, achieving systemic reform is very, very rare. But this is a huge opportunity and we're not going to let it slip.
We also know that the hard-work is only just starting. And that's why we need your help, John.

We are demanding that reform of the sector must achieve 5 key outcomes:
Guarantee enforcement of new and existing regulations. Stop pollution for profit by cracking down on pay outs to water company executives and shareholders. Ensure action is taken to immediately tackle the highest risk pollution events into bathing waters and Sites of Special Scientific interest. Unleashes the potential of nature-based solutions to end pollution. Reveals the truth about the scale and extent of the damage being done by sewage pollution in the UK.
Make sure your MP knows where you stand and help protect our wild waters, today. ✊
