Friend,

It's been 16 days since the mass shooting in Gilroy, California.

Ten days since the mass shooting in El Paso, Texas.

Nine days since the mass shooting in Dayton, Ohio.

Mitch McConnell has made zero efforts to bring the bipartisan House bill to require background checks on gun purchases to the Senate floor.

It's past time to act. Innocent lives are on the line. Join me in demanding Mitch McConnell allow a vote on this bill immediately >>

Friends,

The House of Representatives might be on recess, but I'm gearing up for when we're back in session by touching base with people all across California's 38th District.

It's no surprise what's at the top of everyone's minds: the need to pass stricter gun control bills.

This past weekend's tragedies hit close to home, as a daughter of Mexican immigrants, the cruel and senseless violence that occurred in El Paso is a painful reminder of the devastating consequences of white supremacy.

It's a reminder of what's at stake every minute we don't take action: innocent lives.

For the first time in over 20 years, the House passed a bipartisan bill to require background checks on gun purchases.

While this monumental legislation has passed in the House, the Senate has failed to vote on it. We must pressure Leader McConnell to allow a vote because our lives literally depend on it.

It's past time to act, it's time gun violence was treated as what it is: a national crisis. Join me in demanding Mitch McConnell allow a vote on this bill immediately >>
