Let's create a #WaveOfUnity for #GivingTuesdayNow! Hey John, The news tells endless stories of loss, loneliness, and hardship related to the current international crisis. But, if you look hard enough, you'll also find story after story of people going above and beyond to unite and support one another. I've been moved, for example, by the people, who are volunteering selflessly in their neighborhoods to help with essential needs like food delivery for those unable to leave their homes safely. I'm inspired, too, by the constant encouragement to prioritize safety, both for ourselves and everyone in our communities. Here at WAVE Educational Fund, we are doing everything we can to keep our staff and our community safe by working from home and canceling or postponing our in-person spring fundraising events. That means we need your help now more than ever. Our mission of preventing gun violence, injuries, and deaths in Wisconsin is as essential and relevant as ever right now. You see, the COVID-19 pandemic has led to a surge of new gun-buying, and people are spending more time at home with access to these deadly weapons. On top of that, people are experiencing increased stress and isolation. What all of that means is that the risk of lethal domestic violence, suicides, and accidental shootings are all particularly high right now. That's why we're hoping you'll help us out by joining us on May 5th for #GivingTuesdayNow, a global day of giving and unity. Please RSVP on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/events/302198827417548/), so you don't miss any opportunities to participate in our #WaveOfUnity activities. Even if you can't join us on Facebook, you can show your support by donating any time between now and Tuesday, May 5th! Any size gift will help!
