Jagmeet Singh announced yesterday he was ending his agreement with Trudeau to prop up the minority Liberal government.

The government could therefore fall any time if a confidence vote is held in Parliament.

A general election must be held before October next year. That would give us one more year to prepare.

But this new turn of events means it could be called any time.

It’s absolutely crucial that the People’s Party be ready if that were to happen.

We’ve saved all the money we could over the past three years to build an election war chest.

But I’m not going to lie to you, John.

We need to raise a lot more money if we are to be able to compete with the big establishment parties.

John, if an election is called soon, can I count on your support?
